Staffing for new store openings

An opening date does not move. We build the team in time for it: associates for set-up and launch, and the leads who keep it running.

An opening team from day one

A new store needs two teams: the people who set it up and the people who run it after the doors open. We staff both. Set-up associates stock, merchandise and unload before opening day. Launch-week associates cover the front end, the sales floor and each department while your permanent team settles in.

Shift leads and supervisors keep an opening organized. We place them alongside associates so your store manager is not the only person directing a brand-new team.

Why openings use Alto

  • Built around your date

We plan backwards from opening day so people are ready when you are.

  • Set-up and launch covered

Stocking and merchandising before opening, then front end and departments at launch.

  • Leads included

Supervisors and shift leads keep a new team organized from the first shift.

  • A smooth hand-off

Scale the team down, or convert strong associates to your payroll, as the store settles.

What an opening team can cover

  • Set-up work before opening: stocking, merchandising and unloading
  • Launch-week front end, sales floor and department associates
  • Shift leads and supervisors for the opening period
  • A plan to move from the opening team to a steady roster

Who we staff openings for

  • Resorts and hospitality businesses opening new properties

How it works

  1. Step 1: Share the opening plan

Dates, roles and headcount for set-up, launch and the weeks after.

  2. Step 2: We recruit and prepare

Associates learn your store standards before the doors open.

  3. Step 3: Open, then settle

We scale the team down or convert people to your payroll as the store settles.

Common questions

How early should we contact you before opening?

As early as you have a date. The more notice we have, the bigger and better-prepared the opening team can be.

Can you staff leads and supervisors too?

Yes. We place shift leads and supervisors as well as associates, which keeps an opening team organized from the first day.

Who employs the associates?

Alto HR does. Associates are Alto employees on our payroll. You direct the day-to-day work at your site, and we handle pay, tax forms and employment paperwork.
