Alto Ready: trained before the first shift

Alto Ready prepares associates before their first shift. It was built by people who have run store departments, so it covers what the floor actually needs.

Why training before the first shift matters

The first week is when new associates are most likely to quit and most likely to make mistakes. Alto Ready moves the basics before that first week, so associates arrive knowing how a store runs, how to work safely and what customers expect, and your managers can teach the specifics of your store.

What Alto Ready gives your store

  • Less training time

Managers teach your store, not the basics of store work.

  • Safer shifts

Lifting, ladders, cutters and cold-room safety covered before day one.

  • Better service

Associates arrive knowing how to greet and help customers.

  • Your standards added

We add anything specific to your store.

What Alto Ready covers

  • Store basics: How a store runs: departments, who you report to, schedules, clocking in and out, breaks and what to wear.
  • Customer service: Greeting and helping shoppers, answering questions, and handling a complaint calmly, to the standard coastal and resort customers expect.
  • Safety on the floor: Safe lifting, ladders and step stools, box cutters, spills, working in freezers and coolers, and staying safe in the heat.
  • Front end and cash handling: Register basics, cash, card and EBT payments, returns and exchanges, and helping at self-checkout.
  • Stocking and merchandising: Rotating stock first in, first out, facing and fronting shelves, breaking down pallets and keeping the backroom organized.
  • Fresh departments: Produce quality and rotation, date checks, and keeping cold products cold in deli, dairy, freezer and cooler.
  • Work the right way: Attendance and calling out, respect at work, how to report a problem safely, and your right never to pay a fee.
  • For leads and supervisors: Running a shift, covering breaks, helping new associates on their first day and passing on problems early.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Before placement

Associates complete Alto Ready before their first shift.

  2. Step 2: Store standards

We add anything specific to your store.

  3. Step 3: Day one

Associates arrive ready to work, not ready to be trained.

Why Alto HR

A workforce partner that has worked the floor

  • Built by store operators

Founded by former big-box retail operators. We know the store floor, not just recruiting.

  • Local, not remote

Our office is in Miramar Beach. We can meet you in person and walk your store.

  • Ready on day one

Associates are screened and prepared before their first shift, so your managers are not starting from zero.

  • We carry the paperwork
