Seasonal surge staffing for spring break and summer

Panhandle traffic can go from quiet to packed in a few weeks. We plan the peak with you, so the extra people are ready before the crowds arrive.

Plan the season, not the scramble

Spring break, summer and the holidays arrive on the same weeks every year. The stores that cope best start planning weeks ahead. We look at last season with you, agree the roles and headcount, and build the team in stages.

Local associates carry the year. Where a program fits your roles and your timing, J-1 students and H-2B workers can fill the peaks. We explain the options and the lead times honestly, including when a program is not the right fit.

What a planned season looks like

  • A plan built on last year

We look at where you ran short last season, by week and by role, and staff to that pattern rather than guessing.

  • People in stages

Associates start as traffic builds, so you are not paying for a full team before the crowds arrive.

  • Local talent first

Local associates carry the year. Where your roles fit, J-1 and H-2B programs can add seasonal workers on top.

  • Housing and transport solved

For seasonal and international workers, we help arrange where they live and how they get to every shift.

  • Returning workers

Strong associates from last season get first call, so part of your team already knows your store.

  • A clean step-down

When the season ends, headcount comes back down with it. No long-term commitment is required.

Built for the Panhandle calendar

  • Beach-town stores facing spring break crowds
  • Summer tourist corridors along US-98 and 30A
  • Holiday peaks in retail and grocery
  • Resorts and rentals with Saturday turnover
  • New stores opening ahead of the season
  • Employers adding J-1 or H-2B workers for peak months

How it works

  1. Step 1: Review last season

Where you ran short, which weeks, which roles. We use it to set this year’s plan.

  2. Step 2: Build in stages

We recruit and prepare associates ahead of the peak and add people as traffic climbs.

  3. Step 3: Scale back cleanly

When the season ends, the team steps down with it. No long-term commitment.

Why Alto HR

A workforce partner that has worked the floor

Founded by former big-box retail operators. We know the store floor, not just recruiting.

  • Local, not remote

Our office is in Miramar Beach. We can meet you in person and walk your store.

  • Ready on day one

Associates are screened and prepared before their first shift, so your managers are not starting from zero.

Common questions

Can you staff spring break in Panama City Beach or Destin?

Yes. Beach-town peaks are the core of our seasonal work. The earlier we plan, the larger and better-matched the team we can build.

Should we use J-1 or H-2B workers?

It depends on your roles, dates and how far ahead you can plan. Our comparison page sets out the differences, and we will tell you honestly whether a program fits.

What happens to the team after the season?

Associates finish their assignment when your busy period ends. Strong performers can be invited back next season through our returning worker program.

How early should we start planning?

Earlier notice lets us build a bigger, better-matched team. For international programs, lead times are longer: H-2B petitions are filed months before the season starts.

Who employs the associates?

Alto HR does. Associates are Alto employees on our payroll. You direct the day-to-day work at your site, and we handle pay, tax forms and employment paperwork.
